| Seen here are three Artist Books containing
text by Franz Kafka and prints by Alexander Konstantinov: Kanzlei (Bureaucratic
Office) 1995, Chinesische Mauer (The Great
Wall of China) 1995 and Betrachtungen (Views) 1997. The stories and engravings of the first book use themes of
the atmosphere of a bureaucratic office. The main idea of the second book is the view
of the Orient by a Western man. The third book also uses bureaucratic allusions,
specifically, various bureaucratic forms which are filled in with Kafka's text. It
also contains imitations of certain methods of printing: high print, wood engravings,
photocopy, offset, etc. |
